Production Supervisor (Door Line)

The Production Supervisor (Door Line) is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the day-to-day activities of production staff to ensure efficient operations and high levels of service to both internal and external customers. This role provides hands-on leadership within the plant, ensuring production schedules are met, quality standards are maintained, and safety procedures are followed. It also supports operational goals by supervising staff, monitoring production line processes, and maintaining an organized and safe work environment, and oversees all production processes specific to the door line.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Supervises production staff by setting clear expectations, monitoring performance, providing coaching and feedback, and addressing performance or conduct issues, including progressive discipline, in line with company policies
- Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the production line process, setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources, studying methods, implementing cost reductions, developing reporting procedures and systems, facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points, and fostering cooperation within and between departments
- Completes the production line plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries
- Maintains quality standards by establishing and enforcing organizational guidelines
- Ensures operation of production line equipment by coordinating repairs and evaluating new equipment and techniques
- Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, and responding to operational inquiries
- Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements, and implementing improvements
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of control points, equipment, and resources, and ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures
- Conducts recruiting, training, supervising, and evaluating department staff members
- Establishes and maintains an organizational structure and staffing levels to effectively accomplish departmental objectives and support the financial reporting environment
- Continuously improves department functions by developing staff through coaching, feedback, and delegation, and assists with administering annual performance reviews
- Supports the company vision and mission and demonstrates corporate core values in all professional activities
- Complies with all applicable workplace health and safety legislation, company safety policies, and workplace procedures
- Compiles and maintains required paperwork, records, and documents
- Follows systems and procedures outlined in company manuals
- Maintains departmental housekeeping standards
- Performs other duties as assigned by management
Skills and Requirements:
- Post-secondary diploma in a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and production supervision experience
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, including experience in the door manufacturing industry
- Must have hands-on experience operating door line equipment, such as CVAL Machinery or Norfield
- Previous supervisory experience of 1 to 2 years preferred
- Experience operating material handling equipment, including forklifts
- Proficiency with computer systems, including warehouse or production management systems.
- Exceptional verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong people management skills with a focus on coaching and developing team members
- Ability to work under pressure and manage shifting priorities
- Strong customer service mindset
- Strong depth perception and hand-eye coordination
- Mechanically inclined

Salary: $60,000 to $70,000 per year based on experience.
